chriscuits: a food blog

the tail end of an awesome weekend

Sometimes, facebook can be such a great source of information. It’s how learn about LeBron James and Miami Heat or Paul the Octopus.

A couple weeks ago, the famous lobster roll from Chelsea Market popped up three unique times on my feed - all three people described it with the word “epic.”

So, more or less, I waited for an excuse to go, and on a sleepy, blisteringly warm Saturday afternoon, I found one. Semi-foodie friend Eric was over, and we needed something nice and cool to eat in between two heated world cup matches.

If you’ve never been to Chelsea Market, take a stop down. It’s got everything that a foodie needs to be in foodie heaven.

And without further ado:

The Lobster Roll at the Lobster Place, Chelsea Market

The lobster roll, served with kettle cooked chips and a deliciously sweet cole slaw.

Two very fresh sushi rolls - one for you, and one for me.

Seared tuna over buckwheat soba noodles with a peanut dressing

I’ll take a second to describe the lobster roll myself. It was EPIC. The lobster meat was tender, sweet, and only lightly dressed in a little bit of mayonnaise and chives. I took a bite and did a stupid little dance in my chair.

Just a token of advice:

Don’t go to Chelsea Market after eating a couple slices of:

Torta di pasta

Like we did. We were hungry and desperate, so we whipped together this mound of starch bound with eggs, parmesan cheese, bacon, and celery.

You risk spoiling your appetite.

Hope you all enjoyed the World Cup this year!
